Global Social Media Director Job Description


JLIN Marketing LLC is the team that oversees Jeremy Lin’s off-the-court vision and strategy. We seek to embody the values and story that Jeremy represents to positively impact culture in the United States and Asia. Social media is a huge part of the way we communicate with our followers. We are looking for a global social media director to spearhead strategy for Jeremy Lin’s global social media platforms.


Your primary responsibility will be helping Jeremy’s social media platforms to continue to grow and ensuring that they represent the values that JLIN Marketing and Jeremy embody. You will be responsible for creating original text, photos and video content, managing posts, providing analysis, and reporting audience engagement on a weekly basis. You will work in conjunction with a China social media manager and other stakeholders to plan and coordinate content. You will work closely with JLIN Marketing to develop a comprehensive global social media strategy with concrete goals.


As a global social media director, you will lead the digital strategy as well as be up to date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends. You must be a self starter, driven, and see projects all the way through from beginning to end. We also expect that you are familiar with the differences and intricacies of US and Chinese social media platforms, and can adapt content across all platforms while maintaining Jeremy’s voice. You should be detail oriented, have excellent communication and writing skills, and work well within a small team.


Responsibilities 


  • Create and manage social media strategies across all platforms: Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok and more. Develop a strategy that helps amplify Jeremy’s story and company’s core mission and values. 
  • Stay on top of the rapidly evolving social media landscape, as well as the latest developments from industry leaders.
  • Generate, edit, post Jeremy’s content for all of Jeremy’s US platforms, and provide all assets and captions for our China counterpart
  • Continuously deliver actionable analysis of social media results, along with weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting that gives clear and concise summaries of effort and tracking of outcomes against KPIs
  • Ensure brand consistency and support brand’s overall messaging and values in copy through tone, voice and terminology
  • Collaborate and coordinate social media activities with company’s wider objectives, including working with and understanding the priorities of Jeremy Lin Foundation, philanthropy team, business development, and PR 
  • Stay on top of feedback from posts, including follower’s comments, messages, and social posts being made in regards 
  • Collaborate and communicate with endorsement partners to ensure alignment with digital strategy and all contractual social posts are made
  • Oversee social media account design, that information is up to date, and consistent across all platforms based on branding guideline 
  • Manage procurement and execution of any outside resources required including consultants, video/photographers, etc.
  • Constantly introduce new ideas, define hypotheses, create test plans, and then scale the ideas that are successful.


Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience as a social media manager or director for an individual or company
  • Bilingual (English and Mandarin), with minimum of HSK level 4 proficiency or equivalent
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Identify with and understand JLIN’s value and commitment to positive change 
  • Ability to multitask and balance highly detailed projects with creative thinking
  • Ability to work independently and manage individual goals well while working collaboratively with many different partners
  • Ability to understand cross-cultural issues and complex PR situations
  • Excellent and up to date knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Weibo, Douyin and other best social media practices
  • Familiarity with Google Suite
  • Strong understanding of social media KPIs
  • Ability to deliver creative content ideas as well as content creation including use of photoshop, and basic video editing
  • Experience with working with brands on branded content 
  • Management or leadership experience within small teams
